Malibu Moves to Donate All Net Proceeds to Rebuilding Efforts

In response to the recent catastrophic fires that have devastated Malibu, Pacific Palisades, Los Angeles, and surrounding areas, Malibu Moves has committed to donating 100% of net proceeds from its 2025 event to relief and rebuilding efforts.

This decision reflects the heart and mission of Malibu Moves, which was founded to bring people together through movement, connection, and the beauty of the outdoors in one of the most iconic locations in the world. While our events celebrate fitness, they are rooted in a deep commitment to the community we serve.

The IPS Malibu Moves 5K, 10K, Half Marathon, and Kids Run presented by UCLA Health will return for its second annual event on October 25 & 26, 2025, with the ambitious goal of raising $100,000 to support fire recovery initiatives. We are working closely with the City of Malibu to ensure these funds are directed toward meaningful organizations and projects that will have a lasting impact on our community.
Why This Moment Matters
The recent fires have left a trail of destruction that extends far beyond homes lost. Residents, business owners, and entire communities have seen their lives turned upside down—losing not just homes but livelihoods and essential infrastructure. The rebuilding process will take years, requiring both immediate and long-term support to restore what has been lost.
This is a time when coming together as a community is more important than ever. Relief efforts must address the immediate needs of those who have been displaced or impacted, while also supporting the firefighters, first responders, and volunteers who are still on the front lines managing containment. As the fire continues to pose a threat, we are not yet out of harm’s way.
