Malibu's Women’s Leadership Awards
Malibu Moves had the distinct honor of sponsoring the Malibu Pacific Palisades Chamber of Commerce's Women’s Leadership Awards Luncheon, a testament to our commitment to fostering women's empowerment and leadership within our community. The ceremony, brilliantly captured in a recent feature by The Malibu Times, brought together local luminaries and celebrated the remarkable achievements of women who have distinguished themselves across various sectors, including public service, the private sector, and philanthropy.

Our very own Erica Segel, founder of Malibu Moves and Chair of the Malibu Pacific Palisades Women's Leadership Committee, played a pivotal role in orchestrating this event. The luncheon not only showcased the achievements of outstanding women but also reflected the spirit of unity and support that Malibu Moves champions.
Ani Dermenjian's acceptance of the Lifetime Legacy Award, with her inspiring message of empowerment and collective strength, resonated deeply with our mission.
Dr. Deborah Crown's keynote address on leading with kindness highlighted the essence of transformational leadership, echoing the principles we hold dear at Malibu Moves. The recognition of local women for their contributions, including those in philanthropy and emerging leaders like Bridget Thomas, underscores the importance of community involvement and the impact of dedicated leadership.
Ingrid Steinberg's work with Resilient Palisades, Diane Kale's positive influence within the Chamber, and Alice Meyering's role in expanding educational opportunities at Santa Monica College's Malibu Campus are exemplary of the leadership that drives progress and change. These stories of determination, resilience, and community service inspire us all to strive for a better Malibu and a better world.

The panel discussion, featuring influential figures such as Assemblywoman Jacqui Irwin and Los Angeles County Supervisor Lindsey Horvath, offered invaluable insights into the journey of leadership and the importance of mentoring the next generation. This aligns with Malibu Moves' vision of creating a supportive network that uplifts and empowers women at every stage of their careers and lives.
As we reflect on the success of the Women’s Leadership Awards Ceremony Luncheon, we are reminded of the power of collective action and the incredible potential of women leaders to shape our future. Malibu Moves is proud to have been a part of this celebratory event, and we are inspired to continue our work in empowering women and fostering leadership within our community and beyond.
